Hearing Aids

Phonak EON

Phonak EON is a rechargeable hearing aid that delivers proven Spheric Speech Clarity performance in a 25% smaller, 20% lighter design, with upgraded automatic processing, WindBlock 2.0 wind-noise reduction, and native Auracast connectivity.

Phonak EON is the newest Phonak hearing aid platform and the third generation of Audéo Sphere technology. It delivers the proven speech-in-noise performance of the Sphere line in a design that is noticeably smaller and lighter, while adding smarter automatic processing, stronger wind-noise management, broad Bluetooth connectivity, and native Auracast support. The platform is designed around three core ideas: adaptive clarity, unlimited connectivity, and intuitive design.

Clearer Speech in Noisy Places

Understanding conversation in a busy restaurant or crowded gathering is the single hardest listening challenge for most people with hearing loss. Phonak EON addresses this with Spheric Speech Clarity 3.0, a dedicated AI processing system that separates speech from background noise, enhances the speech signal, and reintegrates it for a clearer, more natural result.

In Phonak's testing, this technology delivers up to 50% better speech understanding compared with advanced directional microphone technology, along with up to 37% less listening effort. It also makes users up to two times more likely to understand speech coming from any direction, not just from directly in front of them.

Notably, Spheric Speech Clarity is now available across three performance levels rather than only the top two, making this technology accessible at more price points.

Smaller, Lighter, and Smarter

One of the biggest changes with EON is the physical design. The hearing aids are 25% smaller and 20% lighter than the previous Sphere generation, packaged in a standard-size rechargeable receiver-in-canal form factor and available in eight color options.

Behind that smaller shell is more intelligent automatic processing. AutoSense OS AI 8.0 and APD 4.0 work together to detect changes in your listening environment and respond more quickly, so you are not reaching for a button every time you move from a quiet room to a noisy one. The system is designed to keep Spheric Speech Clarity active longer and to switch it on in more situations than before, preserving clarity as your surroundings shift.

Key Features at a Glance

  • Spheric Speech Clarity 3.0 for improved speech understanding in noise, now across three performance levels
  • Hypersonic processing chip that is more efficient than the previous DeepSonic chip
  • WindBlock 2.0 for reduced wind noise outdoors
  • Era Bluetooth chip with broad device compatibility and hands-free calling
  • Native Auracast support for public audio broadcasts
  • RogerDirect compatibility with Phonak remote microphones
  • Rechargeable battery with an optional portable charging case
  • CROS R EON companion transmitter for single-sided deafness

Managing Wind Noise Outdoors

If you spend time walking, gardening, cycling, or simply enjoying the outdoors, wind noise can quickly overwhelm a hearing aid microphone. WindBlock 2.0 reduces that turbulence while preserving your access to speech and the sounds around you.

The system provides up to 50 dB of wind-noise reduction while retaining up to 30 dB of signal-to-noise ratio benefit, meaning it quiets the wind without cancelling out the conversation you want to hear. More than 90% of participants in Phonak's testing preferred WindBlock 2.0 for naturalness, and the feature is available across all performance levels.

Connectivity, Battery, and Everyday Use

The Era connectivity chip allows EON to function as a hands-free headset for phone calls and video conferencing, and it connects to a wide range of Bluetooth phones, computers, tablets, and televisions. RogerDirect support means the hearing aids can pair with compatible Phonak remote microphones for challenging listening situations, while native Auracast support opens up public audio in venues equipped with transmitters, including airports, theaters, museums, houses of worship, and conference centers.

On battery, EON provides more than all-day performance, up to approximately 22 hours even with demanding use that includes streaming and time in noisy environments. A full charge from empty takes about 2.5 hours, and an optional portable charging case with its own built-in battery keeps you powered away from home. EON supports the myPhonak and myPhonak Junior apps, and fits hearing losses ranging from mild through profound, including CROS candidates.

Is Phonak EON Right for You?

EON is well suited to people who struggle to follow conversation in restaurants and other noisy settings, who attend meetings and social gatherings, or who spend significant time outdoors where wind is a factor. It is also a strong choice if you stream calls, music, or television throughout the day, or if you want a smaller Phonak Sphere hearing aid with native Auracast capability.

Because EON covers such a broad fitting range, the best way to know whether it matches your hearing loss and lifestyle is a professional evaluation. Our audiologists can compare EON against the other platforms we fit and recommend the right technology level for your needs and budget.
